With the best results, impressive 8K videos open up exciting new possibilities for creative tasks. With internal RAW recording with 8K full-frame sensor at up to 29.97 fps. and 4K recording at up to 119.88 fps. in 10-bit 4:2:2 Canon Log or 10-bit 4:2:2 HDR PQ, the Canon EOS R5 opens up entirely new cinematic worlds and dynamic new ways of telling your story. The highly acclaimed Dual Pixel CMOS AF is fully functional in all video modes, at all resolutions and with all frame rates. The new 5-axis image stabilizer even works in 8K video resolution.

Sophisticated frame grabbing from video recordings also opens up new possibilities for photographers

Individual frames can be easily extracted as high-resolution still images from the 4K and 8K video modes. This works in 4K with a resolution of at least 8 MP with up to 120 frames per second and with 8K even with a resolution of 33 MP with up to 30 frames per second. This also opens up new creative possibilities for photographers to take spectacular pictures.

More than face recognition

Now everything comes into focus. Thanks to advanced animal tracking AF, the EOS R5 can detect dogs, cats and birds – either on the body, head or eyes.

For the first time on a Canon camera, internal image stabilization is available, which works in tandem with Canon RF lenses with built-in image stabilization to deliver the ultimate in blur-free, super-sharp images and movies. Filming or taking photos without a tripod – now with the certainty that the sharpest result can always be achieved.
